When is the Eid Al Fitr public holidays?

Following New Year's Day, the next UAE public holiday in 2024 will be for Eid Al Fitr.

Celebrated after the Holy Month of Ramadan (which is predicted to begin on Monday March 11), astronomers expect Eid Al Fitr to start on either Tuesday April 9 or Wednesday April 10.

The actual dates will be confirmed closer to the date, as this is subject to the moon sighting.

When is the Eid Al Adha 2024 public holidays?

Working residents can look forward to a long four-day weekend to mark Eid Al Adha 2024.

Eid Al Adha is expected to fall on Sunday June 16 and will run Tuesday June 18.

When will the UAE celebrate Islamic New Year in 2024?

Shortly after Eid Al Adha, the Islamic New Year (also known as Hijri New Year) has been predicted by astronomers to take place on Sunday July 7.

UAE residents who work on Sundays can look forward to a day off, but whether there'll be a public holiday during the regular work week is yet to be confirmed by the government. Otherwise, it'll be a typical weekend for employees who have Saturdays to Sundays off.

UAE public holiday for Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday 2024

The Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday is predicted to happen on Sunday September 15, which means another UAE public holiday in 2024 for employees who work on Sundays.

For workers with hours from Monday to Friday, whether there will be a public holiday on Monday has not been confirmed.

Rolling in with another long weekend, the UAE's 53rd National Day is celebrated annually in December. In 2024, UAE Union Day will fall on Monday December 2 so residents can look forward to another public holiday until Tuesday December 3.
