Below is a step-by-step guide on how to report lost items in Dubai Taxis to increase your chances of your personal belongings being safely returned.

How to report lost items in Dubai Taxis through RTA

If you accidentally left something behind at a Dubai Taxi, you can report the lost item through any one of the following methods:

Contact the Road and Transport Authority (RTA)

  • Contact the RTA Call Centre at 800 9090
  • Send an email to [email protected] to report the missing item
  • If you lost the item in a Hala taxi booked online, call the RTA Call Centre at 800 9090 and provide your trip details (your ride's time and date, pick-up/drop-off location, booking number, etc.)

How to report lost items in Dubai Taxis through the S'hail App

You can also report lost items through the S'hail app. Here's how!

  1. Download the S'hail app on your device.
  2. Go to the menu icon and select 'Feedback'.
  3. Once you're in the 'Feedback' section, tap on 'Taxi Lost and Found'.
  4. Enter your contact information so RTA can contact you back.
  5. Report the lost item, and include details of your trip (the date/time of your journey, the route, and optionally the travel receipt.
  6. Once done, tap 'Send Feedback' to submit your missing item(s) report.

After submitting your report, you can track it using the SMS sent to your registered phone number.

Once your lost item has been located, you will be notified and given instructions on coordinating its return with the taxi driver.

How long will it take to find my lost item?

After filing a report, many customers who've lost an item in a Dubai Taxi often have their belongings returned within a few hours or days. The S'hail app also has a 10-day follow-up period for lost and found reports.
