Cityland Mall Preview: Dubai's New Nature-Inspired Shopping Mall

Dubai is well known for it's luxurious, vast shopping malls that are found across the city. But a new one - inspired by nature itself - will become another 'world first' added to the Emirate's already long list of impressive feats.

Introducing: Cityland Mall.... A 2.2 million square feet, nature-inspired mall that will feature wondrous botanical wonders, which all shoppers will no doubt adore.

The new development, we're sure, will become the go-to shopping destination for all fashion-loving fashionistas and nature lovers, as the mall will be in full bloom all year round. Here's an insight into what we can expect here:

Cityland Group, the developers behind Dubai Miracle Garden and Dubai Butterfly Garden, are currently working on the project for Cityland Mall - which will cost a whopping AED 1.2 billion and is expected to attract up to 12 million visitors per year.

How will it be different to any other mall?

Scheduled for launch mid-2018, the new single-level shopping complex will have up to 1.13 million sq.ft. of leasable space, with a HUGE green reserve at the mall's core that will be the main attraction. Plus - there'll also be access to Global Village.

The core itself, dubbed Central Park, will be a 200,000 square-foot open-air colossal open-air garden and will provide shoppers with plenty of green space to relax and enjoy. Expect a mini water park, an ancient tree garden, a Japanese garden, a 360-degree rooftop garden and plenty of shaded seating areas for you to unwind in.

Aiming to blend retail with recreation and wellness, the mall's developers promise that visitors will have an immerseive experience that the whole family can enjoy... And of course, there'll be 'a strong selection of renowned fashion retailers, convenience store, cinema theatre and dining options of both international repute and local popularity', according to the Cityland Mall website.

And not only that - there'll be a 3,000 seat amphitheater too, with a miniature version for children to enjoy. There'll also be a walking track along the open-air garden for all to enjoy.

The best part? Entry to this amazing feature will be FREE for all to enjoy.

Meaning repeat visitors can enjoy the environment as much as they'd like.

What else will be in Cityland Mall?

The mall's interior will have six thematic pavilions - in a similar fashion as what Ibn Battuta Mall has, we imagine - that will display global cultures and captures the cultural diversity of the United Arab Emirates; including Arabia, Africa, Europe, Fareast, IndoAsia and Pan America.

Shoppers can expect to find home furnishing stores, electronic outlets, cosmetic shops as well as personal and banking services. There's also 15% of the mall's space that's planned to be dedicated to restaurants and cafés, as well as a 100,000 sq.ft. hypermarket.
