In an effort to celebrate all aspects of motherhood and family life in Dubai, we brought you our EWmums Show 2018 this April. Families from across Dubai came down to the Address Dubai Marina to join in on the fun, entertainment, and amazing prizes.
The Aquila School Dubai was co-sponsor of the event. They ran a fun competition for parents and the winner took home a Burj Khalifa model and entered the chance to win a helicopter ride around Dubai! Their stand also featured motor skill activities for children throughout the day. The Aquila School Dubai is opening in September 2018 in Dubailand and offers a breadth of curriculum choice with English National Curriculum as well as IB and BTEC. We had loads of entertainment and free activities at the event, from the talented students of Dubai Music School and Crystal Dance Centre, to the lovely Princesses from Princess Parties UAE.
Tumble Time offered the kiddies non-stop fun with their bouncy castles. Chubby Cheeks Nursery and Boecker offered free face-painting and arts & crafts whilst HOUSE OF PIANOS let little ones have fun with their Musical Spider Method.
Families received plenty of valuable information and free services from a range of exhibtors, too! Moorfields Eye Hospital provided free eye exams and consultations, there was free BMI testing from Emirates Hospital and CosmeSurge and MyFitin20mins offered free EMS training sessions.
We also had Dwight School, Brighton College, R.O.C.S. Oral Care, Karcher, 4work, Goldfish Photography, Drs. Nicolas & ASP, Cobone, The Gift Box, Croutique and many talented homegrown vendors at the event.
Lastly, we’d like to congratulate Emma Owen, who won two return flights to the Seychelles! We had the opportunity to interview Emma:
EW: How did you hear about the event?
EO: I met a mum called Alison the day before at XParks, who kindly told me about the event.
EW: Who came along with you?
EO: My husband Nathan & daughter Annabelle.
EW: What did you enjoy the most about the event?
EO: Kids entertainment, my daughter especially liked the balloon making station.
EW: What did you think of the activities and the exhibitors on the day? Did anything in particular stand out?
EO: Good variety of stalls and things for the children to do, the schools/nurseries particularly stood out for me, as we are currently searching for a nursery for our daughter.
EW: Did you purchase or win anything?
EO: I was extremely lucky that day, I won the grand prize, plus a free pest control visit by Boecker.
EW: What would you say was different about this event in comparison to other indoor family exhibitions/community events you’ve attended?
EO: This is my first event in Dubai, as we have only lived here 5 months, so this has been an amazing welcome.
EW: Any suggestions for next year?
EO: Keep doing what you’re doing, it was a fantastic day, even my husband enjoyed it!
