After nearly five years since his first official visit to the UAE in February 2019, Pope Francis will be returning to the emirates from December 1-3, 2023, for the COP28 summit in Dubai.

The news of his visit was made during a channel RAI interview, reported The National.

The head of the Catholic Church has long been vocal about global warming and climate change, and he will be delivering an address at the UN climate summit.

"We are still in time to stop it. Our future is at stake, the future of our children and our grandchildren. A bit of responsibility is needed," said the Bishop of Rome.
