A Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) is a legal document that proves the individual does not have a criminal record. It is also known as a 'Good Conduct Certificate'.
The certificate can be issued in both English and Arabic, and it is valid for three months.
How much does a clearance certificate cost?
At a service centre, a Police Clearance Certificate in the UAE will cost around AED 50.
If you're applying for the certificate online, it costs AED 50 and an additional AED 13 delivery fee to get the certificate delivered to your address.
The fees may also differ depending on the language the certificate is issued in (English and/or Arabic), your nationality, and where you reside.
When do you need a Police Clearance Certificate in the UAE?
Certain jobs in the UAE require applicants to provide a Police Clearance Certificate. Namely, these positions might require a Good Conduct Certificate:

- Apply in-person at one of the MOI’s service centres in Abu Dhabi.
How to apply for a clearance certificate if you're no longer a UAE resident
To apply for a clearance certificate as a former UAE resident, you will need the following:
- 2 recent passport-sized photos.
- Passport copy.
- You must explain the reason why you're applying.
You will also need to get a fingerprint card from the country you're currently living in, and it must be attested by a UAE Embassy in that country.
What is a fingerprint card?
A fingerprint card is an official report from the police department of your current country of residence. The card confirms your identity based on your biometrics and decimal fingerprint.
When applying for a Police Clearance Certificate in the UAE as a ex-resident, you must also include your fingerprint card along with your application to Dubai Police or the Ministry of Interior.
