Rising from the sand are museums, centres, and installations that give a voice to Doha's culture and arts scene. They're hotspots for artists, filmmakers, photographers, and casual visitors to draw inspiration from and discover the artistic gems of the nation.

Museum of Islamic Art

Designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect I.M. Pei, the Museum of Islamic Art is a breathtaking space that provides a remarkable view of the Doha skyline. The museum collection provides a comprehensive glimpse into ceramics, glass, manuscripts, textiles, metalwork and various featured collections spanning twelve centuries.

There are also exhibitions, events and activities for all ages. The impressive facilities also contain MIA Park which has a large playground, bungee trampolines and bicycles for rent for a fun day in the sun. Fire Station

The original fire station was built in 1982 and then repurposed as a creative space under the visionary guidance of Qatar Museums Chairperson, Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. This unique facility offers a dedicated exhibition space called the “Garage Gallery” which showcases the work of various artists every June.

The Fire Station also houses a café, cinema, art supply shop and space for regular workshops and activities for all ages. In addition to exhibition space, children can enjoy checking out fire helmets, houses, and various tools in the main foyer.

There is also a water fountain in the main courtyard for children to run through which is refreshing in the desert heat.

Founded in 2012 by Tariq Al Jaidah in the iconic and unique Katara Village in Building 5, next to the Amphitheater, the KAC ® is a cultural hub that has been developed to provide a creative ecosystem that goes beyond the typical standards of art, design, and culture.

Practically the darling of Qatar's art and culture scene, it truly has its own spirit, identity, and creative heart.

Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art

Located in Education City, the Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art offers an Arab perspective on modern and contemporary art and supports creativity, promotes dialogue and inspires new ideas. The museum’s permanent collection is located on the first floor with artwork being continually rotated for maximum exposure.

The temporary exhibits showcased various Qatari, Middle East and African artists whom focus on political and cultural shifts in society which are reflected through their work.

Lastly, the museum contains a Project Space for artistic collaboration.
