Top New Dubai Tourist Attractions
There are so many new projects that will be launching this year or next in Dubai and we’re so excited about them…
There will be new places for residents to go, take visitors to and to entertain the tourists. Here we take a closer look at our top ten new and up and coming tourist attractions. Get the diaries ready for all these extra activities!
The Tower Dubai
Looking over the well-known Dubai Creek, this new building dubbed The Tower will stand higher than its neighbour, the Burj Khalifa.
"How?" is probably a question most people are thinking, and others will no doubt be eager to learn whether it will be higher than its potential competitor the Kingdom Tower in Jeddah, KSA. It hasn't been confirmed, yet.
Without a doubt, it is an eye-catching piece of architectural brilliance. It's inspired by Islamic architecture, and is part of the Dubai Creek Harbour development. The design is slender in an effort to capture a similar image to a blooming lily. It will have a delicate mesh-like structure surrounding it, and of course will be mammoth in size in comparison to our beloved Burj Khalifa.
It is said that the building will cost approximately AED 3.67 billion to construct.
The new The Tower Dubai will, in the words of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, ruler of Dubai and Vice President of the UAE, "be as great as the Burj Khalifa and Eiffel Tower".
The Tower is part of the continuing Dubai Creek Harbour development that sits near Ras Al Khor. The huge under-construction suburb will feature eight million square feet of retail space, 29,000 apartments and homes, 22 hotels and another project called Dubai Twin Towers (rumoured to be the tallest twin towers in the world, naturally).
EW says: We love the elegance of its design! And will certainly put Dubai as the leader of innovation once again.

Introducing, the Dubai Steps! This one is one of four new projects given approval by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates.
Details are limited at this stage, but early renderings hint at an inclined building, much like a staircase, that reaches high into the sky. Images also show greenery and water features as part of the 20 individual tiers and 500 steps.
There will also be a town square, complete with an obelisk-like monument, with roads surrounding.
EW says: We can't quite wrap our heads around this one, but we're sure in true Dubai fashion it will be something that no matter whether you love it or hate it, you will definitely go and see it.
Dubai Opera House
If anyone has taken a trip down to The Dubai Mall or Burj Khalifa recently, you will have noticed a beautiful new building in the shape of an Arabian dhow. This building is... Wait for it... The new Dubai Opera House! It holds 2,000 people and stage operas, theatre shows, concerts, exhibitions, performance art and various other cultural highlights.

Nakheel Mall and the Palm Tower
This glorious new complex will feature a shopping mall, which will include 200 shops, two department stores, a cinema and a roof plaza with 12 fine dining restaurants... Plus a luxury hotel with residences.
