Australian Passport for Newborn
Hello,
I'm expecting a newborn in the next week or so, and I want to make sure of the steps for applying for an Australian citizenship and passport for her by decent being her Australian mother.
1) Obtain birth certificate from hospital. Do we need to hand in the original or do we just attach a copy online?
2) Apply for citizenship form is through this link correct? https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/citizenship/become-a-citizen/by-descent
3) We wait till we get the citizenship. Then we apply for her passport through this link https://online.passports.gov.au/Infiniti/Produce/Account/Login?ReturnUrl....
Is the total wait period 6 weeks or more? the photos for citizenship and passport are different specs correct? I will get these both done at a photographer? A copy of my citizenship needs to be attached online anything else to take note off?
Any tips about the steps would be greatly appreciated as it seems to be all online and no one to speak to in Dubai for clarification.
