Tips on travelling out of DXB with a pet.

We are relocating and our dog will be with us as excess baggage since the airline we are travelling with does not have cargo facilities. Could anyone tell me of their experience of going thru security and such.... I want to be prepare to minimize the stress of both the dog and us...... As always, I look forward to your helpful advice.

As always, I look forward to your helpful advice. unsourire The best course of action is to confirm everything with the airline you are travelling with and ask them for a step by step guide re security etc. and what would they suggest you do. You are so wise to think ahead. All the best with your new adventure.

Thanks for your reply Cornish Pixie. We are actually leaving Dubai for Azerbaijan and did hire a pet relocator which has been very helpful. Just wanted to know how it has been for others when you get to the airport with a big dog and have to go thru security.... I mean, I will take the dog out of the crate and have him on a leash but..... a bit nervous of other's reaction including the security staff..... The airport website offers little information. I appreciate your response :)

You will still need to import the dog in the normal way, have a vet/health check on arrival and all the paperwork in order. I suggest you contact one of the specialist pet relocators and confirm exactly what you need to do! Just a cautionary note, I am not sure where you plan to stay when you get here but NO hotels or aparthotels here will allow dogs. Good luck with your move.
