Expat Interview: We are Lucky to Enjoy the Islamic Traditions

I’m living in:
My name is Karina Rakhimova, I’m from Kazakhstan, living in Dubai

How long have you lived there?
5 years.

A bit about us:
I live in the Greens, Dubai with my daughter. This is our small family. I'm organizing crafters fairs, promote their business into UAE and international market and write blogs about Beauty, Healthy Food and Positive Mindset in two languages.

Why we like living here:
I think Dubai is a great place for the entrepreneurs and if you are a woman - you are even a bit luckier to enjoy the Islamic traditional respect and privileges towards yourself.

What do you enjoy doing with your time?
In my free time, I enjoy the lovely beaches, home cooking, working on another creative photo or post, plant my little garden on our balcony and drive a yacht.

What top tips do you have for anyone considering a move?
My advice to those who are thinking about moving in here is to do your bit to learn about Islam and local traditions as a respect to the hosting country. It might help you to adjust faster and more successful both for your personal and business plans.

How do you keep a little bit of home with you as an expat?
How do I keep up with my homesick mood? Actually, I don't miss it too much - I travel often to participate in different exhibitions and now we are organizing few cultural events where we bring for the first time a lot of crafters and art from the Great Silk Way heritage! I am very excited about this.
